A PIECE OF HISTORY, FULLY RESTORED!

The restoration of this Grade II listed K2 phone booth was a joy to work on. When we first stepped in, it was in desperate need of care, broken glass, faded paint and structural issues but today, it stands proud and revitalised!

In the spirit of giving back, we volunteered our time and materials, here’s what we did:
• Repaired the iconic iron frame and splice-repaired the door.

• Replaced broken glass with safety glass.

• Completely repainted to match its original design by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.

• Installed new door handles.

• Donated 100 books for kids to enjoy!

This project was a team effort and a lot of work went into it! The project was entirely managed by the FS&A of William Tyndale School, they manage the insta page too @upperstreetlittlelibrary. The design was created by @dominicmckenziearchitects the bespoke metal shelving was fabricated by @metalworkslondon. The books now sit in their new home perfectly illuminated by discreet LED lighting, complimenting the school colour.

We were so excited to attend the opening of the Upper Street Little Library and we’re so proud to have helped bring this phone booth back to life for the community and future generations to enjoy!

Additionally to the phone box library we provided planters to the school to brighten their entrance.
